Following you will find an update on my walking statistics for week 53 of 2015. The update covers the dates Monday 28th of December to Sunday 3rd of January.
I am a bit of a numbers geek at times, so of course, I like to look a little closer at some of the numbers behind the individual days.
First up is the highest day for the week which was Monday with a total of 21,476 steps. While the lowest day was Wednesday with a total of 15,481 steps.
I hit my daily step goal a total of 7 times this week and walked a total of 122,051 steps. Giving me an average of 17,435 steps per day across the week. With my steps this week that gives me 5,597,143 steps for the year to date for 2015. Plus to start of 2016 I will have 52,139 steps year to date.
With this update, we are now into the new year. So I can finally see just how far I got in 2015 with my steps. In the end, I made it to just under 5.6 million steps. Which I never would have thought was reachable at the beginning of the year. It probably comes down to what we believe we can achieve in a day is often overestimated and what we can achieve in a year is often underestimated. That is not my own thought, but an adaption of various quotes with a similar inference.
With 5.6 million steps for the year, the average that I have achieved per day is 15,334. Also giving me an average of 466,428 steps per month across the year. The primary attribution to reaching these averages goes mostly to the last five months of the year where I was working on a 15,000 per day step goal. You see in each of the first seven months of the year I never even reach these averages in any one of those months. I only exceeded these averages in the last five months of the year each and every month.
Finally, the end of the year thankfully does not see the end of my streak, which is still going well. I have so far reached 165 days walking 15,000 steps per day.
