Following you will find an update on my walking statistics for week 52 of 2016. The update covers the dates Monday 26th of December to Sunday 1st of January.
I am a bit of a numbers geek at times, so of course, I like to look a little closer at some of the numbers behind the individual days.
First up is the highest day for the week which was Saturday with a total of 18,845 steps. While the lowest day was Wednesday with a total of 15,135 steps.
I hit my daily step goal a total of 7 times this week and walked a total of 114,027 steps. Giving me an average of 16,291 steps per day across the week. With my steps this week that gives me 6,435,664 steps for the year to date. With the start of the new year this week as well, I will include the starting total of the new year as well, which is 15,592 steps year to date.
This Time Last Year
Looking back to Week 52 of 2015, following are some of the step numbers for comparison. I walked a total of 129,072 steps with an average of 18,438 steps per day. The highest day was 22,706 and the lowest day was 15,751. To read more check out Walking Update – Week 52, 2015.
Here we are at the end of December and as such the end of the year. So that means that I am going to have more than a couple of extra numbers for you today. There will be a total for December, the year and some averages as well.
Starting with the numbers for December, I walked a total of 534,543 steps for the month. That gives me an average of 17,243 across the whole month. Surprisingly even with the weekly differences, the months with the same number of days come out not too far different from each other.
For the year I walked a total of 6,435,664 steps, which easily achieved my goal of 6 million. For the following year as I mentioned last week, I am going to aim just a touch higher at 6.5 million steps. I know it is not a huge increase, but as I have previously said, I don’t want walking to become too much of the day. With these steps walked the daily average across the whole year was 17,631 steps. Not bad considering that I was only aiming for 15,000 steps per day.
Finally, the streak is still going into the new year now, having reached 113 days in a row.
