Stepping Numbers

For over five years now, I have been tracking my steps daily and I enjoy looking over the numbers. This section breaks down some of those numbers from this week and cumulative for the year.

High & Low Days

The high day of the week with the most steps was Tuesday, with 20,258 steps.

The low day of the week with the least steps was Friday, with 18,338 steps.

Weekly Totals

Throughout the week, I met my daily step target on 7 out of 7 days. I walked 136,408 steps for the week with an average of 19,486 steps per day for the week.

Year to Date

With the steps I have walked this week, I now have 1,466,816 steps for the year. That places me around 197,275 steps more than the same time last year. The goal for the year is 7 million steps. There is another 42 weeks to go I need 5,533,184 steps or 131,742 steps per week.

This Time Last Year

I also find it interesting to look back to last year and see a comparison for the week and year to date progress.

So let’s look at the step details from week 11 in 2019. I walked 110,494 steps, giving me an average of 15,784 steps per day. Overall, 25,914 steps less than this year.

The highest day for the week saw me walk, 17,022 steps, a difference of 3,236 steps less than this year. While the lowest day for the week saw me walk, 15,189 steps a difference of 3,149 steps less than this year.

Other Thoughts

I don’t have a lot to share this week as I am catching up this update two weeks later. There has been a lot going on around the world at the moment. It has been difficult to focus on getting things done and even remembering what happened a few weeks prior.

I am still maintaining a good progression for my walking goal for the year. At my current daily average, I will meet my goal somewhere around the middle of December. There is not much room for error in there at the moment. But I want a goal that I am working on the whole time. Not something that I achieve far too easily.

While the global COVID-19 situation is still unfolding, I hope that you are making walking a part of your day. Even if all you can manage based on your circumstance is walking around the house or your bedroom.
