Stepping Numbers

I am a bit of a numbers geek at times, so of course, I like to look a little closer at some of the numbers behind the individual days.

First up is the highest day for the week which was Saturday with a total of 20,333 steps. While the lowest day was Thursday with a total of 15,610 steps.

I hit my daily step goal a total of 7 times this week and walked a total of 126,842 steps. Giving me an average of 18,120 steps per day across the week. With my steps this week that gives me 3,794,329 steps for the year to date.

This Time Last Year

Looking back to Week 32 of 2017, following are some of the step numbers for comparison. I walked a total of 110,524 steps with an average of 15,789 steps per day. The highest day was 17,820 and the lowest day was 15,031. To read more check out Walking Update – Week 32, 2017.

Other Thoughts

I was thinking recently about the idea of making some plans to beat my previous high step records. The highest day, week and month all occurred nearly three years ago in October 2015. The highest day was the 29th of October 2015 with 30,321 steps. My highest week was week 44, 2015 with 167,174 steps and included the 29th of October. While the month October 2015 was my highest month to date with 602,989 steps.

I would like to at least give it a go trying to beat some of these numbers. But of course, that would take some work. I had one or two months that I got over 570,000 steps but otherwise, I have been a long way off the month total. It actually requires averaging over 20,000 steps a day for the most part. Likewise, with the weekly high step goal would be even high average to achieve with an average of over 23,800 steps needed.

Maybe one day soon I will set out to make some goals to try and break these high step records.

The 15,000 steps per day streak is still going well and now reaches 336 days in a row.
